Country Day School actively participates in supporting The Capital Area Alliance for the Homeless (CAAH), an organization that holds a special place in our hearts. CAAH works closely with individuals striving to regain housing and independence, providing them with essential resources such as medical care, showers and laundering facilities, restrooms, day shelter respite space, and coordination of overnight emergency stays at local shelters. In alignment with the mission of the Capital Area Alliance for the Homeless, our CDS families unite to fill “Loving Hands” bags, which are beautifully decorated by the children. These bags are graciously filled with various items, including gently used hats, gloves, winter coats, travel-sized toiletries, laundering supplies, and much more. At Country Day School, we firmly believe in the power of community and the responsibility we have to support those in need.Together, we can instill the values of compassion and inclusivity in our children, and create a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
