Country Day School of Baton Rouge has been proudly serving our community for over forty years. We recognize childhood as a brief window in time, and believe that preschool should be a special place where children are not only educated but also nurtured.

Our primary goal is to facilitate the emotional, intellectual, physical, and social growth of each child in a warm and caring environment. We measure our successes in smiling faces, from children and parents alike. We are proud to operate our early childhood campuses at three convenient locations: our original midtown campus and two campuses located in south Baton Rouge. We are excited for you to learn more about our program and how we can fill your child’s day with care, education and laughter.

What makes our
school different?

Country Day School of Baton Rouge is dedicated to providing an exceptional educational experience for our students. We firmly believe that every child is a unique individual, with their own set of experiences, abilities, talents, and feelings. Our mission is to celebrate and preserve this uniqueness. We provide many opportunities for children to express their individual interests while actively participating in a vibrant learning community.

Through a combination of organized activities, instruction, and play, children are encouraged to explore, experiment, and discover the world around them. We firmly believe that the early experiences in a child’s education lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning. With our comprehensive early childhood program and commitment to excellence, our mission is to make a difference, one child at a time.

Our Programs

Country Day School is a place like no other. It has a small town feeling in the midst of a big city. Every teacher loves and nurtures your child day in and day out. The lessons that they teach every day far surpass an educational basis, and for that, we are forever grateful. We could not love Country Day School any more than we already do, and we will forever be indebted to them for the role that they play in our child’s life, as well as ours.

After touring seven schools in Baton Rouge six years ago, we decided on Country Day School and are so glad we did! I can't say enough good things about them. The teachers feel like family. We have always been kept well-informed. The teachers are great at making learning fun with lots of hands-on activities. Most importantly, the children love going and are well prepared to enter "real" school. After six years with two children, our youngest is about to finish his last year at CDS. We can't express enough how much we appreciate everyone at Country Day caring for our children like their own.

The teachers at Country Day have given my family peace of mind by demonstrating how invested they are in our children's lives and development. It was an easy decision to make Country Day a part of our growing family over the years because of the love the teachers have for our children!

Country Day School has been a huge blessing for our family for nearly five years! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. The staff is excellent, working to meet the needs of each individual child. They are warm and loving. They teach the children routines, how to listen, and how to interact with other children. Additionally, they provide educational enrichments that prepare them for their next school. They do a great job of communicating with the parents and including family in several activities throughout the year. I have never once doubted my decision to send my two girls here and only wish they could stay longer!

Country Day feels like home for us and the staff and community are like family! Our children have been at CDS since they were infants and I have always known they were in the best hands. As they have gotten older, I have also been so impressed and pleased with how much they learn from their amazing teachers. CDS is such a blessing in our lives and has truly been a special place for our young children to grow and flourish!

All three of my children have attended Country Day School. My youngest is still there and the older two love coming in to pick her up and see their old teachers. Several of the teachers have had all of them in their class at one point. I love that there is a smaller student to teacher ratio and no screens at all. It feels like a family!
